Wage Increment Program

Enabling private sector enterprises to increase the wages of their existing Bahraini workforce

  • About the Program

    This program allows enterprises to obtain wage increment support for existing employees, thus facilitating the career progression of Bahrainis working in the private sector and encouraging employers to retain and reward existing employees.  

  • Eligibility Criteria

    For Enterprise:

    • Enterprise holds an active Commercial Registration (CR) from MOIC or an active license from the relevant regulatory authority
    • Enterprise must not have violations from Tamkeen, LMRA, or any other relevant government entity

    For Employee:

    • Employee must be a Bahraini national
    • Employee must be registered in the SIO under the same company
    • Employee salary must not exceed BHD 1,500
    • Employee’s wage increment must be between 5% and 20% of the basic salary, and the increment amount must be between a minimum of BHD 20 and maximum of BHD 300
    • Minimum wage for full time employees must be:
      • BHD 350 or more – for High School graduates
      • BHD 430 or more – for Diploma holders
      • BHD 500 or more – for Bachelor’s degree holders and above
  • Support Mechanism

    We will support 100% of the wage increment for a period of 24 months up to the approved cap amount.

    The increment must be between 5% and 20%, and the increment amount must be between a minimum of BHD 20 and maximum of BHD 300.
