Riyadat Program

Empowering Bahraini female owned Startups and SMEs to help develop and grow female entrepreneurs to reach their full potential   

  • About the Program 

    The Riyadat program is a collaboration between Tamkeen, the Supreme Council for Women and Bahrain Development Bank to provide access to Shari’a compliant financing for Bahraini women entrepreneurs to grow their business by providing the tools they need to succeed and expand in Bahrain and abroad.

  • Eligibility Criteria
    • Business is owned and fully managed by a Bahraini woman and based in Bahrain (total contribution of Bahraini women in the company must be 51% or above)  
    • Enterprise must have an active CR/license  
    • Audited financials for companies over 3 years (if applicable)  
    • Growth Plan (applicable for existing enterprises)  
    • Owner, partner, members of the BoD of the Enterprise shall have an acceptable financial record at the time of submission of the application.  
    • Enterprise should be managed by the female owner  
  • Support Mechanism

    We will subsidize part of the loan profit up to the approved cap amount

  • How can my company benefit from this program? 

    Enterprises can submit their application directly to the Bahrain Development Bank (BDB)   

  • What information and documents do I need to prepare before applying? 
    • Latest management accounts (not older than 6 months)  
    • Latest audited financials (for existing enterprises)  
    • Business plan / feasibility study  
    • Benefit credit report – enterprise (only for existing enterprises)  
    • Articles of association (if applicable)  
    • Pictures of the current business setup (place of operation)  
    • Main business account’s bank statement (up to 6 months)- if applicable  
    • Proposal / quotations (for the requested support items)  
    • Off-take agreements, contracts, etc. (optional)  
    • Business quality certification (optional)   
    • Benefit credit report – individual (optional)   
    • Electricity and water bill (optional)   
  • Which sectors are applicable to this program? 

    The Riyadat program accepts applications from all sectors provided the applicant meets the eligibility criteria with a clear focus on sectors with high potential for generating high quality local employment, injecting into the economy, and catalyzing economic growth.
