Enabling Bahraini doctors to specialize in required medical specialties through international fellowship programs

  • About the Program   

    This program supports Bahraini doctors in obtaining the necessary qualifications to become specialists in public and private hospitals by attending medical fellowship programs abroad to specialize in medical specialties that are highly in demand in the market.  

  • Eligibility Criteria  
    • Bahraini national employed in the public or private healthcare sector  
    • Qualified as a medical doctor  
    • Attained Board certification as a Resident/Specialist 
    • Licensed by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) 
    • Employee joined the enterprise 12 months ago or less  
    • Obtained an acceptance letter for an approved fellowship program  
    • Obtain an approval from the Supreme Council of Health for the fellowship program 
  • Support Mechanism

    Private sector doctors: Tamkeen will support the travel and program costs and provide stipends for doctors throughout their training period. The candidate will need to apply through Tamkeen’s portal upon receiving an approval from the Supreme Council of Health.  

    Public sector doctors: Tamkeen will support the travel and program costs for doctors throughout their fellowship training period. The candidate will need to apply through government hospitals.

  • How can I benefit from this program?

    After applying to the relevant fellowship program and receiving approval from the training entity and relevant authorities in Bahrain (Supreme Council of Health and National Health Regulatory Authority), you can apply to the program through our portal.
