Pitch@Palace GCC 2.0 begins its bootcamp, preparing 9 startups for the upcoming regional competition

The Pitch@Palace GCC 2.0 today held a bootcamp to prepare 9 entrepreneurs for the upcoming regional competition. These entrepreneurs were selected after qualifying in their local Pitch@Palace competition.

The final ceremony of the second edition of Pitch@Palace GCC will be held on 27 November at Arad Fort, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minster. Winners will then compete at Pitch@Palace Global at St. James Palace in London, UK.

In his opening speech at the boot camp, Tamkeen’s Chief Investment and Marketing Officer, Dr. Nasser Qaedi, emphasised the importance of initiatives such as Pitch@Palace to help boost economic growth and innovation.

“During the bootcamp, the startups were exposed to high level training and mentorship to prepare them for the upcoming competition, and to provide them with value-added entrepreneurial experience”, Dr. Qaedi said.

Dr. Qaedi also underscored that Tamkeen’s programmes and initiatives are designed to enable entrepreneurs and startups to thrive.

For her part, Chief Executive, Pitch@Palace, Amanda Thirsk, said “Pitch@Palace is a vibrant ecosystem of entrepreneurs and audiences.  Pitch@Palace works with its cohorts of Entrepreneurs to support them with growing their businesses by making connections.”

The 9 participating startups include: Arabee, Aryam, CureTech, DocWhere, Hope, Flows, LARA, LOOMI and Mavi VR Studio.

Pitch@Palace GCC 2.0 is organised by the Labour fund “Tamkeen” in collaboration with the Pitch@Palace initiative – launched in 2014 to provide a platform to amplify and accelerate the work of entrepreneurs. This work is carried out through an interactive programme where participating entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to meet the people who can help make their business become a reality.

Since its launch in 2014, over 60 countries and over 1000 entrepreneurs have participated in Pitch@Palace creating more than 6,000 jobs.
