About the Program
This program is designed to support enterprises in enhancing the career progression of Bahraini employees in the private sector by supporting wage increments for their basic wages over a 12-month period, with the aim of improving employee retention, promoting professional growth, and enabling enterprises to invest in the development and recognition of Bahraini talent.

Eligibility Criteria
For Enterprises:
- Enterprise must be classified as either Small, Medium or Micro as per the definition set by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce
- Enterprise holds an active Commercial Registration (CR) from MOIC or an active license from the relevant regulatory authority
- Enterprise must not have any violations from Tamkeen, LMRA, SIO, or any other relevant government entity
For Employees:
- Employee must be a Bahraini national
- Employee’s age must be between 18 and 45 years old at the time of application
- Employee must have work experience of at least three (3) months with the same Enterprise
- Fulltime Employee’s wage must meet the following minimum requirements corresponding to the employee’s highest academic qualification, as follows:
- BHD 300 or more for High School Graduates
- BHD 380 or more for Diploma Graduates
- BHD 450 or more Bachelor’s degree or higher
- In all cases, the employee’s basic wage must not be less than BHD 200 and must not exceed BHD 1,500 at the time of application
- If an employee’s basic wage is BHD 200 or above but below the minimum required for their academic qualification, the application will not be automatically rejected. These cases will undergo further assessment to determine whether the wage is reasonable in relation to the employee’s role and industry standards.
- An employee must be registered in the SIO under the same company, with a job role that matches or relates to their role in the enterprise
- Employee’s wage increment must be reflected within their basic salary, and the increment must be between 5% and 20% of the basic salary, and the increment amount must be between a minimum of BHD 30 and maximum of BHD 300

Support Mechanism
We will support enterprises by providing 100% of the wage increment for Bahraini employees in their basic salary for a period of 12 months (up to the approved and supported amounts)
- Minimum increment: 5%
- Maximum Increment: 20%

What is the minimum and maximum wage increment supported through this program?
The employer must increase the employee’s basic wage by a minimum of 5% and a maximum of 20%.

Where is the wage increment reflected in an employee’s salary? and are allowances or bonuses included?
The Employee’s wage increment must be reflected within his/her basic salary, where allowances, bonuses or any other additions will not be included.

Is there a minimum salary requirement for full-time employees?
Yes. The minimum salary for full-time employees depends on their highest academic qualification, as follows:
- BHD 300 for High School Graduates
- BHD 380 for Diploma Graduates
- BHD 450 for Bachelor’s degree or higher

Are part time employees also eligible and what is the minimum salary?
Yes. Part-time employees are eligible, and the minimum salary is BHD 200. The applicable minimum wage increment and percentage value will apply accordingly.

What about doctors and dentists with wages below BHD 800?
For doctors and dentists, the 20% cap and the BHD 300 cap do not apply if a higher increase is needed to reach the minimum salary of BHD 800 after the increment.

What if the salary is below the minimum based on the highest qualification?
The basic wage must not be less than BHD 200.
If the salary is BHD 200 or above but below the minimum required for the employee’s qualification, the case may be subject to review to determine whether the wage is reasonable based on the job role and sector.

Can the enterprise reapply for the same employee?
Enterprises can reapply to the program for the same employee after the application has been completed.
