Enabling the upskilling of Bahraini individuals by supporting recognized training aligned with labor market needs.

  • About the Program   

    This program supports the development of Bahraini talent by offering grant based support to recognized professional, vocational, technical, leadership, and behavioral training aligned with labor-market needs, with the aim of enhancing skills, productivity, and workforce readiness. 

  • Eligibility Criteria  

    Individuals and enterprises are eligible to apply for this program. The eligibility requirements for each are outlined below:

    For enterprises:    

    • Enterprise holds an active Commercial Registration (CR) from MOIC or an active license from the relevant regulatory authority 
    • Enterprise must not have violations from Tamkeen, LMRA, or any other relevant government entity 

    For Individuals:   

    • Employee must be a Bahraini national (Jobseekers, employees, and business owners are eligible)  
    • Employeemust meet the requirements set for the training program  
  • Support Mechanism   

    We will provide support for a percentage of the training program cost (up to the approved and allocated caps), as outlined below: 

    • Jobseekers: 100% support  
    • Employees: 70% support
    • Enterprises: 50% support

  • What types of training programs are supported under Tamakkan?

    The program supports the following training categories: 

    Professional Certifications
    Professional qualifications awarded by recognized professional or regulatory bodies. This category also includes mandatory certifications required to practice a profession after successfully completing a standardized assessment administered by the relevant professional body (e.g. ACCA, PMP, CIPD).

    Vocational Programs
    Practical, occupation-focused training programs listed on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) at Level 2 or above that prepare individuals for employment or upskilling in skilled trades and occupations (e.g. welding, insulation, occupational health and safety, construction, tiling, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and automotive maintenance). This category also includes occupational licensing examinations where NQF listing is not required. 

    Technical Programs
    Applied training programs that develop job-specific technical skills and are listed on the NQF at Level 4 or above (e.g. Certified Cybersecurity Technician, ISP Certificate in Sales Professionalism, Retail and Business Administration.

    Leadership and Executive Development Programs
    Leadership and management programs that are listed on the NQF, awarded by an internationally recognized awarding body, or delivered by recognized international universities or colleges. 

    Workplace and Behavioral Skills Programs

    Programs listed on the NQF that develop essential workplace competencies, including communication, teamwork, customer service, professionalism, and other behavioral skills that support workplace performance. 

  • Can an Individual benefit from both the Enterprise Led and Individually Led Tamakkan tracks at the same time?

    No. An individual can only benefit once within a 12-month period, whether through an enterprise or individual application. 

  • What are the certifications available under this program?
    You can view the list of available certifications here. If the required certification is not included in the current list, individuals and enterprises have the option to submit a request to add new certifications, which will then be reviewed and evaluated for approval.
  • If the certification required is not in the certifications list on Tamkeen’s portal. Can individuals & enterprises request to add new certificates to the list?

    Yes, individuals and enterprises can add new certificates:

  • When can individuals request to add new certificates to the list on Tamkeen’s portal?

    Individuals may submit their requests for overseas and self-study certificates only within a one-month window. The team will follow up on the application within 2-3 weeks to obtain any additional required information and then approve or reject the application.

     

  • When can enterprises request to add new certificates to the list on Tamkeen’s portal?

    Enterprises may submit their requests throughout the year. The team will follow up on the application within 2-3 weeks to obtain any additional required information and then approve or reject the application. 

  • When can Training Providers request to add new certificates to the list on Tamkeen’s portal?

    Training Provider may submit their requests within a one-month window to be onboarded and to add new certificates to the database. The team will follow up on the application within 2-3 weeks to obtain any additional required information and then approve or reject the application.
