Tamkeen Launches Updated Regulatory Framework for Training Programs
The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) launched an updated regulatory framework for training programs aimed at improving their impact and outcomes. In line with this, Tamkeen also completed its periodic review of several training programs that support obtaining professional certificates across various specialties.
The updated regulatory framework includes procedures and regulatory controls designed to measure the impact of training programs on beneficiaries. It includes periodic reviews of training programs to ensure alignment with Tamkeen’s strategic priorities, in addition to follow-up procedures with the beneficiaries to gauge the impact of the programs on their professional development.
The latest periodic review included an in-depth review of the certificates which resulted in delisting 20 and amending the support criteria and requirements for six other certificates. This step aims to improve the impact and outcomes of the training programs in alignment with Tamkeen’s strategic priorities to develop the skills of national talent, enhance their opportunities to enter and grow in the labor market, or launch their own businesses.
Tamkeen reaffirms its commitment to measuring the impact of the training programs on the individuals’ professional development and their access to employment opportunities through ongoing communication with program beneficiaries to track their progress during and after the program, in addition to the implementation of several follow-up procedures to ensure training quality.
More than 30 inspection visits were conducted to training providers during this year and over 400 program beneficiaries were contacted to measure the program’s impact on their professional growth, gather their feedback and observations regarding their experience, as well as track their career progression and job placement through coordination with relevant institutions.
This initiative aligns with Tamkeen’s strategic priorities for 2025, which focus on enhancing the position and competitiveness of Bahrainis in the private sector, equipping Bahrainis with suitable skills for career development in the private sector, and prioritizing enterprise growth, digitization, and sustainability.
