Microfinance is a way for businesses to obtain affordable financing that they wouldn’t be able to access through conventional banking. Tamkeen and the Family Bank offer the Microfinance Program which enables to obtain microfinancing that is Sharia-compliant and affordable. The program empowers individuals with limited income to be able to establish new micro-business activities as well as support existing businesses.

Tamkeen will enable the targeted businesses to benefit from more affordable financing through subsidizing up to 87.5% of the profit rate. Financing amount ranges from BD 500 to BD 10,000.

Eligibility Criteria
Any Bahraini national between the ages of 21 and 65 can apply for the program.

Documents Required

1• Copy of Smart Card
2• Copy of passport
3• Copy of Commercial Registration (if any)
4• Bank statement (3 to 6 months, for business owners, if any)
5• Salary slip (if any)
