The launch of the Individual Development Platform through Tamkeen’s portal serves as a centralized hub for all of Tamkeen’s training initiatives offered to Bahraini individuals including students, employees, and job seekers.
This platform aims to enhance the competitiveness of Bahrainis by boosting their skills in line with the needs of the labour market, to achieve one of the most prominent goals of the Kingdom, which is positioning Bahrainis as the first choice for employment.
The Platforms offers two services:
- Individual Development Support
- Human Capital Support for Enterprises
1. Individual Development Support
This support will provide students and job seekers with value-added training opportunities in the following areas:
Students:
- Professional certifications
- Youth training programs
Job seekers:
- Professional certifications
- Licenses/Regulatory requirements
- Apprenticeships
- Internships
- Train & Place
Employees (Applying Individually)
- Professional certifications
2. Human Capital Support
This support will provide enterprises with an opportunity to enhance the skills of their human capital in the flowing areas:
Employees:
- Professional certifications
- International accredited courses
- Technical training
- Licenses/Regulatory requirements
Entrepreneurs:
- Professional certifications
- International accredited courses
- Technical training
You can apply to any of the programs listed on Tamkeen’s website, provided that it is related to the applicant’s academic or professional background (whether they’re students, job seekers, employees, or employers). Please note that the final decision will be taken based on the accreditation of the course.

Application process
Individually Driven (Students, Jobseekers, Employees) - For individuals who are applying on their own, this includes employees who wish to obtain training support:
Step 1: Create and activate an Individual Account through Tamkeen's portal.
Step 2: Create an Individual Profile through Tamkeen’s portal.
Step 3: Fill and submit the Training Support Program online application form through Tamkeen’s portal.
Enterprise Driven (Employees and Entrepreneurs) - For individuals who are applying through their enterprise:
Step 1: Enterprise must create and activate an account through Tamkeen's portal.
Step 2: Create and activate an Individual Account through Tamkeen's portal.
Step 3: Create an Individual Profile through Tamkeen’s portal.
Step 4: Enterprise must submit an Enterprise application, job role application and employee application through Tamkeen’s portal.
Step 5: Enterprise must submit the Training Support Program online application form through Tamkeen’s portal.
The required documents:
- ID/Smart Card
- Highest educational qualification
- Acceptance letter from the training provider
- Quotation/invoice from the training provider
- Salary slip (for those employed)
- Detailed Job description (for those employed)
Eligibility Criteria:
Bahraini individuals who meet the following requirements:
- Age should be 16 years or older.
- Meet the entry requirements of your selected qualification.
- Select a qualification which matches your educational background or profession
- Be enrolled into the qualification program. However, you must not have completed the final assessment or exam.
Reimbursements:
The individual, training provider or the enterprise can submit a payment request via the portal after the successful completion of the program.
Support amount:
Tamkeen’s support for students and job seekers will be 100% (of the certificate cap) upon successful completion. Tamkeen’s support for employees and entrepreneurs will be 50% (of the certificate cap) upon successful completion.

4.What is the eligibility criteria that I must meet to apply for the program?

- Be a Bahraini national of 16 years or older.
- Meet the entry requirements of your selected qualification.
- Select a qualification which matches your educational background or profession.
Be enrolled into the qualification program. However, you must not have completed the final assessment or exam.
5.What type of certificate can I apply for?
You can apply for any certificate that is listed on Tamkeen’s website, provided that it is relevant to your academic background, your profession, and your segment (Student/Job Seeker/Employee/Business Owner). The final decision will be made at Tamkeen’s discretion after assessing your application.
6.What type of financial support does the program provide?
Tamkeen’s support for students and job seekers will be 100% (of the certificate cap) upon successful completion. Tamkeen’s support for employees and entrepreneurs will be 50% (of the certificate cap) upon successful completion.
7.Can an individual be enrolled in multiple courses at the same time?
Individuals may only be enrolled in one training at a time. If the individual completes the training, they will not be able to enroll in a new training course until 12 months have lapsed from the previous application approval date.

9.What if the certificate that I wish to apply for is not listed on Tamkeen’s website?
If the certificate you wish to apply for is not listed on the website, you can submit an online Certificate Request to have the certificate assessed and listed within 25 Days.
10.How will I know if my application has been accepted or rejected?
You will receive a notification via SMS and email from Tamkeen informing you whether you have been accepted or not into the program and, if you have been accepted, it shall ask you to confirm your application online.
11.How can I check on the progress of my application?
You may check on the progress of your application by logging into Tamkeen’s portal, as it will provide you with the status of your application throughout its entire journey within the program.
12.What if I do not “confirm” my application online?
You are given a maximum period of 1 month to confirm your application from the date of approval. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your application.
13.What are the costs the program will cover?
The program shall cover the following:
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees (including main course books)
- Exam (if applicable)
- Membership fees (if applicable).
The program shall not cover any extra costs incurred by the trainee that is not required by the course for e.g. extra classes, study guides, costs of re-sitting an exam, renewal of memberships etc.
14.What if I wanted to withdraw my application?
You can request to withdraw your application, provided that Tamkeen has not made any payments to you or to the training provider on your behalf. If payments were made, you will have to settle the amounts paid before withdrawing your application.
15.What if I failed my final exam or assessment?
If you have failed your final exam or assessment and no longer wish to continue with your studies, you can e-mail us a copy of your exam results in order to deactivate your application on support@tamkeen.bh Alternatively, you may re-sit the exam at your own expense.

The individual, training provider or the enterprise can submit a payment request via the portal after the successful completion of the program.
Please note it takes up to 40 days to process each payment after you have completely/fully submitted the required payment documents. You will receive an email notification whenever there is a change in your status. Alternatively, you can track your payment’s status through the portal.
18.What is the Training Support Cap?
It is the maximum amount that Tamkeen will pay for a specific training course. Training Providers may quote a higher price and you are required to pay the difference between Tamkeen’s Support cap and the quoted amount.
19.What if the proposed date of my final assessment/exam in my application elapsed and I did not submit my results to Tamkeen?
You are given a period of 3 months to update Tamkeen with your new exam date. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your application.
