Why is the SDB conducting the survey?
The survey is conducted to identify opportunities and challenges within various economic sectors, with the goal of strengthening national development initiatives.
-
Does the firm have to take part in the survey?
Participation is encouraged and very much appreciated, but voluntary.
-
I would like to participate in this survey, how can I do that if I am a business owner of a Bahraini based company?
Your interest is very much valued. Following the best practices to get the highest quality data, the survey participants are pre-selected by a computer and then contacted by the survey company. We will contact you if you are among the pre-selected group. If you do not hear from us this time, we might contact you in later repeats of this survey.
-
What will you do with the findings of the survey?
The findings will be shared with policy makers, informing their decisions over national development initiatives and policies. Select findings might also be shared with the public. Again, policymakers and the public will see only aggregated results, ensuring that no individual or business can be identified.
-
Why has the firm been selected to take part in the survey?
Participants are selected randomly from all firms registered in Bahrain, to ensure that there is a representative mix.
-
I only employ one or two people, do my views matter?
Definitely, it is important that the survey covers firms of all sizes and sectors. Whether the firm has few employees or a large workforce.
-
What will my business gain out of taking part in the survey?
Participating in this survey allows your firm to directly shape future government decisions, policies, and programs aimed at supporting Bahrain’s private sector. Your responses will help identify barriers, enhance business services, and improve the overall business environment, ultimately benefiting your enterprise through targeted reforms and initiatives.
-
Is the survey just another labor inspection by the Ministry or SDB members?
No, the survey has nothing to do with inspection.
-
How will the interview be carried out? By whom? Where and when? And for how long?
The interview will be conducted in-person by IPSOS, an international consulting and research firm. The interview will take place at a time and place that is convenient for you. The interview could last between half an hour (in the case of smaller firms) up to an hour and a half for large firms.
-
What topics are covered in the survey?
The topics include: the profile of the company’s workers, recruitment experiences, the impact of Bahrainization policies, skills shortages, training practices, managerial practices, degree of competition, and innovation.
-
Are the survey questions about the firm as whole, or individual branch?
The questions relate to the company as a whole. Participants should include all branches in their answers if there are multiple branches.
