1. What is this programme all about?
This programme is sponsored by Tamkeen (Labour Fund). It aims to place a defined list of 1312 bachelor degree holders in finding suitable jobs in the private sector and achieve sustainable employement.
2. Why should I take part in this programme as opposed to approaching any other recruitment agency?
We hope that you will choose to participate with us not just for the financial rewards that this programme provides employers, but also take part in the social responsibility we bear towards the future of Bahraini graduates.
3. How can I, as an employer, benefit from this programme?
Just call us on, 17 568891, and we will gladly set up a meeting to further understand your recruiting requirements. Once we get a clear picture of your needs, we shall go back to our database, select a number of candidates for each vacancy and provide you with their profile. You then have the option of scheduling interviews with them at your convenience. Once the interview is over, we will request feedback from you and from the candidates. We hope that you are successful in filling any vacancy you have. We shall then proceed with finalising the necessary paperwork.
4. What are the financial benefits of this programme?
Essentially, each graduate comes with his own 'backpack' of BD 7,000 from Tamkeen. That amount is divided into BD 6,000 salary subsidy and BD 1,000 training subsidy, in addition to access to a wide array of training programmes sponsored by Tamkeen.
5. What role does Ernst & Young play in this programme?
Ernst & Young is acting as an intermediary on behalf of Tamkeen in:
- Preparing / Profiling Candidates
- Meeting Prospective Employers
- Matching Candidates with Prospective Employers
- Monitoring Candidates progress for 2 years
6. What are the benefits to the graduates?
Each graduate, or beneficiary, is guaranteed a salary not less than BD 400 a month, in addition to training (as part of the BD 1,000 training subsidy). Each beneficiary will also be monitored by Ernst & Young staff for a period of 2 years to monitor growth and progress.
7. What if I choose to pay more than the minimum BD 400, how can Tamkeen help?
We understand that each employer and each job opportunity is different. We have various options to choose from, so long as the BD 6,000 is paid out in two years or less.
8. Do I get to apply the traditional 3 month probationary period? And what financial obligations do I have if I feel that I no longer want to employ this graduate?
We do not wish to disrupt any of the policies and procedures you may have in place that govern your human resource function. Should you wish to terminate the employment, we require that you first choose to consult with us to see if we could be of any help in rectifying any issues you may have. Should you strongly believe that the candidate may not continue with your organisation, you will only be required to pay your agreed portion of the salary. You will not be required to reimburse Tamkeen for any amount.
9. What happens at the end of 2 years?
We hope that by the end of the 2 years, both you and the beneficiary have benefitted from the programme. We sincerely hope that the beneficiary will continue to be employed by you for years to come. Tamkeen extends its financial subsidy for two years only, as set out in the contract signed by yourself and Tamkeen. Given the setup of the programme, we hope that you can continue to employ the beneficiary the agreed minimum of BD 400 per month. If not, we thank you for your time and effort in providing these graduates with the experience needed to be competitive in the labour market. |
