Tamkeen premises, Sanabis, 19th July 2010 :
In a bid to rejuvenate the Training and Education Service Provider (TESP) agencies in the Kingdom and better equip them for the valuable task of imparting training, Tamkeen has launched a BD 253,700 project that will reach 400 TESP owners, managers and senior employees.

An agreement was signed today by Tamkeen’s Vice President, Enterprise and Human Capital Development Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh and Dr. Nader Ahmed Al-Mallah, Managing Director of Itcan Consultancy & PR, the agency running the project.
Over a 18 months period, Tamkeen intends to introduce training workshops that will develop Bahraini employees and management staff of TESP organisations, teaching the trainers to upgrade their capabilities, improve their responsiveness rates to new and emerging requirements and acquire the skills necessary to help them match employers demands and to continuously improve their client offerings. The training will be conducted by event management company Itcan Consultancy and Public Relations and will run in modules of 20 people each.
“Trainers need refresher courses as much as their students and managing a training and education facility requires as much business savvy as any other independent business,” said Tamkeen’s Amal Kooheji, Senior Manager - Human Capital Development. “The ultimate aim of this programme for TESP sector personnel is to develop the managers and staff of these establishments in order to help them manage their functions effectively and eventually enhance the quality of their services.”

The training sessions will begin in Sep. 7 recognised international training providers/agencies have been selected to deliver 28 different topics related to the theme of the project.
It is estimated that a total of 28 workshops shall be run in this cycle. Workshop titles will include:
• Train the Trainer / effective facilitation / teacher development • Coaching & Mentoring skills • Marketing training and educational services • Assessment and evaluation • Designing and planning training and educational programmes. • Innovation in Education • Quality System for TESP • Special Education
And many other unique topics delivered for the first time in the kingdom.
Tamkeen identified the need for the project after perusing audit reports issued by the Quality Assurance Authority (QAA) reflecting the current performance of these training and education service providers and conducting several focus groups with the Training & Educational services providers. The programme is in line with 2009-2014 National Economic Strategy.
Candidates must be Bahraini nationals employed within a licensed Educational and/or Training establishment in the private sector with 10% of the workshop seats allocated to government sector employees (proven by an employer’s endorsement/acknowledgement of employment)
